We are an active funder and further to our distribution of grants and donations, we are proud to walk the walk and ensure that our impact is both wide-reaching and long-lasting.
This includes the team getting out and volunteering at Parkrun, offering up our courtesy coaches and board members to assist with the transport for vaccinations and organising our own team and events to fundraise for Relay for Life.
ILT is blessed with an incredibly talented family of 650 people, and in addition to this, we endeavour to support local where possible.We spend more than $26 million on goods and services with a huge range of local suppliers every year.
We are continually reinvesting in the city from offering employment opportunities, purchasing goods and services through a variety of local suppliers to investing in our businesses.
The most recent and notable investment is The Langlands hotel which opened in August 2022. This 4.5 star hotel is set in the heart of the city with five different food and beverage offerings, creating more vibrancy for visitors and locals alike.
Recognising the wide-spread economic benefit to the whole city, ILT takes a proactive approach to attracting conference and business events to Invercargill.
We also create our own unique events, adding variety to an already vibrant city calendar and providing great entertainment choices for locals and visitors.
ILT actively promotes Invercargill and the southern region of New Zealand as a tourism, events and conference destination. We invest time and resources in regional promotional activity, both in New Zealand and abroad, working collaboratively with our local regional tourism organisation and trade channels.
