2024 ILT Tertiary Scholarship Recipients

65 of the city’s bright minds have been awarded an ILT Tertiary Scholarship. The official presentation was held on Monday night, 4 November, at the Ascot Park Hotel.

All scholarship recipients will begin full-time undergraduate studies in 2025, each receiving $2,000 annually for three years.  

Since this initiative began ILT has awarded over 900 scholarships to tertiary students, equating to over $5 Million dollars.

Paddy O’Brien, ILT President said, “we have long recognised the value of supporting education and are immensely proud to assist Invercargill’s youth through all stages of their education journey. From the learn to swim programme at primary level, funding Enrich our school for gifted students to the tertiary scholarship initiative.”   

The process of earning an ILT tertiary scholarship is quite an undertaking for the applicants. Each student is interviewed by a panel of three highly regarded adjudicators. They are assessed independently across a range of criteria including their grades, community commitment and future ambition.

“This year’s recipients stood out across all of those categories and more. Our sincere congratulations go to all the recipients, we are incredibly proud to help them achieve their dreams,” said Mr O’Brien.

The 2024 ILT Tertiary Scholarship Recipients are:
