ILT achieved a remarkable milestone this week in its sustainability journey, celebrating the conversion of the boiler at the Ascot
ILT is incredibly proud to have given over $200 Million in grants and donations back to our community.
ILT has returned over $200 million back to the community through grants and donations since we as a city voted in this form of social enterprise in 1944. Each year around $7 million is granted to over 300 organisations who then apply this funding to a range of areas to support thriving community groups, a burgeoning arts’ culture, scholarships across tertiary education, trades, arts and sport, and world class facilities.
Our publicly elected board stand as representatives of our diverse population and this ensures grants and funding result in widespread community benefit. The concept of community ownership is both our uniqueness and our reason for being. It allows us to keep our community at the heart of all our initiatives as we strive to achieve our vision of A Vibrant Invercargill.
ILT is a community owned organisation that operates 23 high quality hospitality businesses including hotels, motels, bars and restaurants through to retail bottle stores. Not only does it mean that all of these diverse parts return their profits back the community of Invercargill, we also provide employment to around 650 people.
