GRANTS ALLOCATED AT ILT MEETING ON 11 APRIL 2013

Chamber Music NZ Trust – Southland Branch
A grant of $12,000 to assist with their activities in Southland for the 2013 year, including presenting six concerts of national and international artists, hosting the Southland District Chamber Music Contest in June, organising and running master classes with visiting artists and to continue to promote and develop audience numbers and musical appreciation for chamber music in Southland.

Sport Southland – ILT Southland Sports Awards 2013
A grant of $12,000 to support the Southland Sports Awards on Friday 31 May 2013.

Invercargill Rugby Football Club
A grant of $15,000 towards ongoing administration costs for the 2013 rugby season.

Invercargill Schoolboy/girl Rugby Clubs
A grant of $2,000 towards assisting Invercargill Rugby clubs school boys/girls section for the 2013 season.

National Heart Foundation of NZ – Southland Branch
A grant of $5,500 towards their overhead operating expenses for the next 12 month period.

Citizens Advice Bureau Invercargill Incorporated
A grant in the full amount requested of $7,000 towards office administration expenses and for the replacement of a computer.

Southland Literacy Association (previously Southland Council, NZ Reading Association)
A grant of $8,000 towards the Dreamweaver programme being offered to and run in primary schools in Invercargill during 2013.

Invercargill Primary School Educational Initiatives Trust
A grant of $110,000 towards the 2013 Education Conference being held in Invercargill over the period 30 September – 1 October 2013.

Invercargill Repertory Society Inc
A grant in the full amount requested of $12,500 towards the cost of productions and running expenses for the 2013 year.

Venture Southland – ILT Kidzone 2013
A grant of $42,000 towards Year 9 of the ILT Kidzone Festival being held 17-22 July 2013.

Rugby Southland
A grant in the full amount requested of $400,000 towards the amateur game of rugby, coaching, player development, administration and general operating costs and for the support of the Southland Stags.

Invercargill Primary School Educational Initiatives Trust
A grant in the full amount requested of $125,000 towards assisting with staffing and running enrich@ilt gifted and talented programme during the year 1 April 2013 – 31 March 2014.

A grant of $12,000 to assist in with the CACTUS programme, educating young people about fitness, alcohol, drugs and violence.

South Island Indoor Bowls Championships
A grant of $4,000 to assist in staging of the South Island Indoor Bowls Championships in Invercargill over the weekend 1-3 June 2013.

Southland Triathlon and Multisport Club
A grant of $3,500 to assist with the staging of the 2013 AMP Kids Tryathlon to be held on Sunday 17 March 2013.

Southland Multiple Sclerosis Society Inc
A grant in the full amount requested of $3,830 to assist in replacing the carpets at the Multiple Sclerosis Invercargill centre.

Bowls Southland
A grant in the full amount requested of $5,000 to assist in hosting Bowls NZ Nationals in Invercargill from 20 – 27 June 2013.

A grant of $3,000 to assist with the International Administrative Professional’s Day luncheon which is to be held at Ascot Park Hotel on Friday 10 May 2013.

Invercargill City Council
A grant of $3,500 to assist with the celebration of the 20th anniversary of the signing of the City Council’s sister city agreement with the City of Kumagaya in Japan.

A grant of $4,000 plus two complimentary nights’ accommodation for one of the speakers, to assist in the costs of organising this event which is a major fundraiser for the Halberg Trust in Invercargill/Southland each year.

Children’s Art Experience! Trust
A grant of $10,000 to assist with 12 months of art programmes for children, each separate programme to run monthly, commencing October 2012.

Youth Development Southland Region Trust
A grant of $2,000 to assist with delivering the ‘Kiwi Can’ programme for primary school pupils in Invercargill schools for the 2012/13 year.

Invercargill Gymnastic Club Incorporated
A grant of $8,000 towards the continuation and extension of the joint moveMprove project currently running between Sport Southland, GymSports NZ and the Invercargill Gymnastic Club.

A grant of $1,000 to five Invercargill Secondary Schools and a grant of $2,000 to SIT to assist with their end of year prizegiving.

Southland Girls’ High School
A grant of $20,000 to assist with the upgrade of school computer equipment which is over and above what would normally be provided through the education system.

James Hargest College – Itinerant Music Service
A grant of $3,750 to assist with running the Southland Secondary Schools’ Jazz Festival for 2012.

A grant of $5,000 to assist with the annual Truck Show and Parade which is being held on Sunday 21 October 2012.

Southern Storytellers
A grant of $3,000 to assist with the Children as Storytellers event for year 6, 7, and 8 children from Invercargill schools in October this year.

Invercargill Primary Principals’ Association – Invercargill Schools’ Sing Out
A grant of $12,000 to assist with expenses in staging the Invercargill Primary Schools’ Sing Out being held from 17 – 20 September 2012.

Southland Water Polo
A grant of $4,000 to assist stage the New Zealand Under 16 Division One Water Polo tournament here in Invercargill over the period 1/7 October 2012.

Southland Indoor Leisure Centre Charitable Trust
A grant of $250,000 to assist with the Stadium rebuild project.

Touch Southland Inc
A grant of $10,000 to assist with their ongoing coaching development programme for the 2012/13 season.

Rape and Abuse Support Centre Southland Inc
A grant of $5,000 to assist with wages, overhead costs, training, supervision of staff/volunteers to deliver education, counselling and support work service delivery for the 2012/2013 year.

Diabetes Southland
A grant of $4,000 to assist with operating costs for the 2012/2013 year.

Golf Southland (Inc)
A grant of $8,000 to assist with operational funding for the 2012/2013 year.

Basketball Southland
A grant of $150,000 to assist with the Southland Sharks’ basketball team’s entry into the 2013 national basketball league and a further grant of $20,000 to assist with the cost of the newly appointed coach.

Southland Women’s Club Inc
A grant of $4,000 to purchase and install suitable light fittings to replace existing 40 year old lighting.

A grant of $4,500 to assist with the cost of scholarships for several speech and junior vocal competitions, and for ribbons/sashes/prizes for those same competitions.

Southland Secondary School Principals’ Association
A grant of $10,000 to assist with costs incurred in the Youth Mark Photography Exhibition being held on Tuesday 23 October 2012.

Meals-on-Wheels
A grant of $2,500 to assist with the annual afternoon tea for Meals-on-Wheels recipients, convenors and drivers.

Queens Park Golf Club
A grant of $4,000 to assist with the Liquorland Golf in the Park Classic Tournament to be held in October 2012.

Neurological Foundation of NZ – Southland Branch
A grant of $50,000 to assist with the purchase of a CRW stereotactic system, to be used as part of the development of the Chair in Neurosurgery based in Dunedin, which will be the closest centre for specialist neurological medical assistance for Invercargill people.

Bowls Southland Inc
A grant of $15,000 to assist with the development and promotion of bowls in Invercargill over the 2012/13 year, plus costs associated with running two major tournaments to be held in Invercargill on 27/28 October 2012 and 25 March 2013.

Athletics Southland
A grant of $2,500 to assist with costs incurred in hosting the 2013 South Island Colgate Games in Invercargill over the period 11, 12, and 13 January 2013.

Squash Southland
A grant of $3,300 to assist with staging the 2012 Southland Open and Southland Junior Squash tournaments in August 2012.

Venture Southland
A grant of $4,000 to assist with costs of running the Wachner Place 2013 New Years Eve Party.

Toa Fighting Systems
A grant of $5,000 to assist with the purchase of a kickboxing ring for the use of students training in ring craft, especially those competing in tournaments.

A grant of $4,000 to assist with this event being held in Invercargill from 12-14 October 2012.

Southland Cricket Association
A grant of $45,000 to assist with operational costs for the 2012/13 season, including facility upkeep, grounds equipment, administration costs, development and representative team support and the SCA Academy.

Invercargill Secondary Schools Network Trust
A grant of $50,000 to assist with continuing the operation of the Invercargill Secondary Schools Network Trust in Invercargill.

Southland Youth One Stop Health Shop
A grant of $25,000 to assist with operational funding for the Southland Youth One Stop Health Shop, Deveron Street, Invercargill, for the next 12 month period.

Southland Football Incorporated
A grant of $25,000 to assist with operational funding including their Club Support Package, Academy Programme and the Referee Recruitment Programme in 2012/13.

Murihiku Maori and Pasifika Cultural Trust
A grant of $5,000 to assist with the Polyfest Art Exhibition being held in the Southland Museum and Art Gallery’s Community gallery, from 27 July to 26 August.

City of Invercargill Highland Pipe Band
A grant of $20,000 to assist with running costs of the band for the coming year.

A grant of $4,000 to assist with associated costs and awards for prize winners of the ‘Positively Pastel Exhibition’ which runs from 5 October till 19 November 2012.

South Centre Anglican Care
A grant of $17,500 to enable continuation of services and programmes which support those in need and the general community of Invercargill.

Invercargill Hockey Association
A grant of $8,000 to assist with ongoing operating costs involved in running their junior development programmes, the purchase of new equipment and the costs associated with the shared administrative assistant position.

Venture Southland
A grant of $42,000 to assist with this year’s Kidzone Festival running from 4-9 July 2012.

Invercargill City Council – Community Development
A grant of $25,000 to assist with the construction of a new multi-purpose skate part facility in Invercargill.

Sport Southland
A grant of $40,000 to assist with their annual operating costs for the period 1 July 2012 – 30 June 2013.

Athletics Southland
A grant of $4,000 to assist with staging the 2012 Southland Festival of Running event (formerly known as the Southland Marathon) to be held on Sunday 11 November 2012.

Invercargill Musical Theatre Inc
A grant of $25,000 to assist with the staging of their major production “The Sound of Music” in July/August 2012, and a Theatre Restaurant to be held in November 2012.

Hospice Southland
A grant of $30,000 to assist with operating expenses for the 2012/2013 year.

A grant of $6,000 to assist in sending ten terminally ill Southland children to Disneyland in August this year.

Pregnancy Help Inc - Welfare
A grant of $3,500 to assist with the cost of rent and power for their rooms at 34 Forth Street, Invercargill, and also for volunteers’ travel costs.

St Mary’s Netball Club
A grant of $5,000 to assist with their 2012 season.

Southland Secondary Principals’ Assn
A grant of $8,500 to stage the 2012 CareerFest Southland to be held at the Velodrome on 26 – 27 July 2012.

Outward Bound Scholarships
A grant of up to a level of $53,460 to provide scholarships for 12 students to attend Outward Bound.

Invercargill Tap Dancing Association
A grant of $4,000 to assist with the costs involved in staging their various local competitions being held throughout 2012.

Windsor Community Church
A grant of $5,000 to assist towards the purchase of IT equipment for their church, not only for their own use, but also for the benefit of the many community groups who use the facilities and equipment.

Southland Council, NZ Reading Association
A grant of $8,000 to again place “Dreamweaver” Elizabeth Miller, in Invercargill schools to provide her skills as a storyteller.

Cycling Southland
A grant of $50,000 to assist with the delivery of the 2012 Junior World Track Championships in Invercargill over the period 22-26 August 2012.

Phoenix Synchro (Southland)
A grant of $15,000 to assist with professional coaching and development, coaching clinics and professional gym trainers, and also towards supplying club uniform jackets for competitions.

Southland Kindergarten Association Inc
A grant of $3,000 to assist with costs incurred in hosting an educational conference for kindergarten and pre-school teachers in Invercargill on 3rd/4th July 2012.

Invercargill Garrison Band Society (Ascot Park Hotel Brass of Invercargill)
A grant of $20,000 to assist with their day-to-day running costs, and contesting and operations of both the Ascot Park Hotel Brass of Invercargill and the Ascot Park Hotel Auxiliary Bands for the 2012 year.

Southland Rowing Association Inc
A grant of $5,468 to assist towards costs associated with hosting a Coach Director in Invercargill for weekend coaching and also for costs involved in holding the Southland Rowing Champs.

A grant of $4,500 to assist with the costs involved in organising the local Shakespearean Festival for secondary schools.

A grant of $4,500 to assist with hosting the Grey Power Conference 2012.

Invercargill School Boy Rugby Clubs
A grant of $2,000 to each of the Invercargill School Boy Rugby Clubs, subject to ILT receiving an application, to assist with the 2012 season.

A grant of $5,000 to assist with organising the Relay for Life event held at Rugby Park in Invercargill on 10/11 March 2012.

A grant of $5,000 to assist with staging the New Zealand National Junior Rock and Roll competition in Invercargill over the period 6-8 April 2012.

Cycling Southland
A grant of $40,000 to assist with operating and development costs, track cycling events, and age group track cycling championships being held at the Invercargill Velodrome in 2012.

A grant of $10,000 to assist with production costs of the feature film ‘The Weight of Elephants’.
